What information do we collect?

When you register a WagerTales account, we collect identifying information needed to open and operate the account: name, date of birth, residential address, email, phone number, chosen username and password. We collect payment details when you make a deposit or request a withdrawal, and we collect identification documents when we run know-your-customer checks before processing your first cashout.

We also collect usage information automatically as you browse and play: IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, games launched, stakes placed, win and loss amounts. This information supports fraud prevention, anti-money-laundering compliance, responsible gambling monitoring and the personalisation of the lobby.

How do we use your information?

Personal data is used to operate your account, process payments, run the games you choose, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, prevent fraud, send transactional emails (such as withdrawal confirmations and security alerts) and tailor promotional content where you have opted in. We do not use your information for purposes beyond these without asking your explicit consent first.

Marketing preferences are retained while the account is open and deleted at closure. Communications logs (live chat transcripts, email correspondence) are retained for two years to support dispute resolution.

Documents collected during KYC are encrypted at rest and accessible only to authorised compliance staff. They are deleted on the same five-year schedule.

What are your UK GDPR rights?

You can request a copy of all the personal data we hold about you (the right of access). You can ask us to correct inaccurate data, restrict how we process it, or delete it altogether where we are no longer legally required to retain it. You can object to our use of your data for direct marketing at any time. You can ask us to provide your data in a portable format for transfer to another provider.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@wagertales.vip with your username and the request. We respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, although please give us the chance to put things right first.

How do we keep your data secure?

All web traffic is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Passwords are stored as salted hashes and never in plain text. Payment card details are tokenised through PCI DSS Level 1 processors so we never see or store full card numbers on our own systems. Database access is restricted to a small number of named staff and every query is logged.

Two-factor authentication is available on every account from the security tab. We strongly recommend enabling it, particularly if you use the same password elsewhere. If we detect a login from a new device or country we email you immediately with a link to lock the session if it was not you.

Children

WagerTales is strictly an adult-only service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we discover that an account has been opened by a minor we close it immediately, refund all deposits and delete the associated data subject to anti-money-laundering retention rules.

International transfers and where your data lives

Most personal data sits on encrypted servers inside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. A small number of processors operate from the United States, Canada and India, in each case under standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office and supplemented by additional technical safeguards such as field-level encryption for any directly identifying field.

We do not move personal data to jurisdictions that lack adequate protection under UK GDPR. If we ever change processors in a way that affects international transfers, we update this policy and email any player whose data is affected before the change takes effect.

Automated decisions and what we never use them for

We use automated tooling for fraud prevention, anti-money-laundering screening and responsible gambling monitoring. None of these systems make a final decision that affects your account on their own. Every block, suspension or limit applied as a result of an automated alert is reviewed by a human compliance officer before it becomes permanent, and you have the right to ask for that review to be explained in writing.

We do not use automated decisions to set the size of any bonus you are offered, to refuse withdrawals or to determine your VIP tier. Those decisions are made by people working from published criteria that we are happy to share on request from your registered email address.
