How to start a cooling-off period

Log in, open the account menu and choose Responsible Gambling, then Cooling Off. Pick the duration you want (24 hours, 7 days, 14 days or 30 days), confirm with your password and the account locks immediately. You receive a confirmation email with the unlock date.

During the cooling-off period you cannot log in, deposit, play or claim promotions. Any active bonus pauses and resumes on unlock if it has not expired. Any pending withdrawal continues to process normally.

How to self-exclude

From the same Responsible Gambling menu, choose Self-Exclusion. Pick the duration: six months, one year, two years, five years or permanent. Confirm with your password. You receive a confirmation email and the account is closed for the duration chosen.

How to fully close your account

Email support@wagertales.vip from your registered email address with the subject line Account Closure Request. Include your username and a brief reason. We process the request within one working day and confirm by email when the account is closed.

Closure is permanent. The username cannot be reused, marketing stops immediately, and we delete personal data on the schedule set out in the Privacy Policy (typically five years from closure due to anti-money-laundering retention rules).

What happens to a remaining balance?

Real-money balances are paid back to the original deposit method before closure completes. If the original method is no longer available (a card has expired, a wallet has been closed), the balance is paid to a verified alternative method in your name. Bonus funds and bonus winnings are forfeited at closure because they are not real money in the legal sense, only a marketing instrument.

If your balance is above 5,000 pounds you must complete enhanced KYC verification before withdrawal. This is a legal requirement under anti-money-laundering rules, not an attempt to delay your withdrawal.

What happens to your data?

Marketing preferences are deleted at closure. Account information and transaction logs are retained for five years to satisfy anti-money-laundering record-keeping rules, then deleted automatically. KYC documents are deleted on the same schedule.

Reopening after self-exclusion

If you self-excluded for a fixed period and the period has ended, email support@wagertales.vip from your original registered email to request reopening. The team checks for any signs that the underlying reasons for self-exclusion may still apply and may ask follow-up questions about your current situation.

Reopening after a long self-exclusion includes a 24-hour cooling-off delay during which you cannot deposit. The default deposit and loss limits are set to the most cautious setting and any increase requires the standard 24-hour cooling-off.

If WagerTales closes your account

We may close an account in cases of suspected fraud, multiple accounts, bonus abuse, breach of terms or where required by law. In each case we email the registered address with the reason. Real-money balances are returned to the original deposit method. Bonus funds are forfeited.

If you believe the closure decision was wrong, please reply to the email within 30 days and our compliance team will review the decision. Where the closure was due to a regulatory or legal requirement we cannot share investigative detail but we will explain the process for any appeal available to you.

What about active bonuses, pending wagers and tournament entries?

When you start a cooling-off period or self-exclusion, any active bonus pauses in place. If the cooling-off period ends before the bonus expiry date, the bonus simply resumes from the same wagering progress. If the cooling-off period runs past the bonus expiry, the bonus is forfeited and no winnings derived from it count towards your balance.

Pending wagers on live sports or in-game tournament entries continue to settle normally because their outcome is already in motion. Any winnings paid into a locked account remain there until the lock ends, and they cannot be withdrawn during the locked period. Tournament leaderboard prizes are paid into the same locked account and become available at unlock.

Closing for a partner or relative on your behalf

We cannot accept a closure request on behalf of another adult account holder. The person whose name is on the account must contact us directly, either from their registered email or through live chat after logging in. This protects everyone from impersonation, particularly in difficult family situations.
